The session "Mass Democracy, Civic Democracy, and Economic Development" is dedicated to examining the link between democratic structures, civil society, and economic development in Iran. One of the main themes of this program is the distinction between mass democracy and civic democracy and the consequences of each for political and economic development.
In this session, Dr. Javad Etaat, professor of political science at Shahid Beheshti University and a researcher in the field of political development, democracy, and civil society, will examine the requirements for the formation of sustainable development and the relationship between the state, society, and civic institutions, with regard to Iran's historical experience and political developments.
This program provides an opportunity for students and researchers in political science, economics, sociology, and development studies, as well as those interested in issues of democracy and governance in Iran, to gain a more precise understanding of the obstacles to and possibilities for political and economic development.
