A Night in Memory of Sayeh (Houshang Ebtehaj)

About this event

This gathering is held in memory of Amir Houshang Ebtehaj, the renowned contemporary Iranian poet; a poet whose verses are intertwined with the lived experience, collective emotion, and literary memory of several generations of Iranians. The program's title, "We Never Die," alludes to the enduring nature of poetry and Sayeh's cultural presence in the Persian language.

In this program, lectures, poetry readings, and music come together to paint a multidimensional portrait of Sayeh; from the perspective of thought and literary criticism, through poetry readings by young poets, and via music, which has always had a close relationship with Ebtehaj's poetic world.

In the lecture segment, Professor Mostafa Malekian and Dr. Mehdi Firouzian will speak about Sayeh, and Yalda Ebtehaj will also participate in the program with a video message. Additionally, the Siah-Mashq music ensemble will perform, and a number of special guests and young poets will be present at this commemoration.

This event is an opportunity for enthusiasts of Persian poetry, contemporary literature, Iranian music, and those who hold memories with Sayeh's poems to revisit his legacy in a collective and cultural atmosphere. Attendance is free and requires registration on the event page.
