The Iranian City of Philosophy is holding a debate session titled "Realism and Anti-Realism: Does Science Give Us Knowledge?" The main topic of this session is one of the important discussions in contemporary philosophy of science: Are scientific theories merely tools for predicting and explaining phenomena, or do they actually provide us with a picture of the world and its hidden structures?
In this session, Hossein Hosseini (translator, author, and philosophy researcher) and Mohammad Yousefi (translator and philosophy researcher) will present their views on the relationship between science, reality, and knowledge. This dialogue is suitable for those interested in the philosophy of science, epistemology, and fundamental questions about the validity of scientific knowledge.
This session will be held in person in Tehran on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Attendance is open to the public and no registration is required.
