"Reconnection; Reflections on Shared Sufferings" is a series of meetings for dialogue about the collective experiences of human beings in the face of suffering, crisis, and social ruptures. The second session in this series, titled "Why do some societies undergo psychosocial reconstruction after war and others do not?", examines the factors affecting the psychological and social reconstruction of societies after the experience of war.
In this session, Dr. Maghsoud Farasatkhah, sociologist, and Dr. Ali Nikjou, psychiatrist, will engage in an interdisciplinary conversation to examine the role of social capital, collective memory, mental health, human relationships, and the capacity of societies to heal after widespread trauma. Dr. Amirhossein Jalali Nadoushan will facilitate this conversation.
This program is a collaborative effort by the Iranian Psychiatric Association and the Iranian Sociological Association, and provides an opportunity for those interested in sociology, psychology, mental health, peace studies, and social thought to reflect on the possibility of collective reconstruction and healing.
