Reconstructing Religious Knowledge and the Challenges of the New World

The new world, with its profound epistemic, social, and cultural transformations, has posed new questions for religious thought. Concepts such as secular knowledge, secular knowledge, and religious knowledge have each opened different horizons for understanding humanity, society, and truth, while at times being set in opposition to one another.

The session "Reconstructing Religious Knowledge and the Challenges of the New World" seeks to address the question of what relationship can be established between religion and new forms of knowledge amidst these challenges. Are these domains necessarily in conflict with one another, or can a path be opened for re-reading and reconstructing religious knowledge on the horizon of the contemporary world?

This session is suitable for those interested in the philosophy of religion, religious intellectualism, Islamic studies, the sociology of knowledge, and the intellectual issues of the contemporary world. The presence of Dr. Seyyed Javad Miri in this program provides an opportunity for a serious dialogue about the future of religious thought and its relationship with the epistemic transformations of our time.
