A Review of the Book *The Modernists* (Genealogy of the Amiraslani Family)

The forty-seventh session of the “Bukhara Tuesday Evenings” series is dedicated to a review of the book *The Modernists: Genealogy of the Amiraslani Family* by Sima Tayefeh; a work published by Nashr-e Tarikh-e Iran, which examines the history and influential figures of the Amiraslani family based on archival and family documents. Some of the documents used in this research have not been published before and provide the reader with new information about certain figures in Iran’s contemporary history.

Sima Tayefeh, a researcher in the history of Tehran, historical documents, and Qajar and contemporary history, holds a degree in Theology, Religions, and Mysticism from the University of Tehran. Her professional background extends from preparing registration files for Tehran’s historical buildings and writing articles on historical architecture to document research and collaboration on documentary projects. She is currently the head of the Documents, Research, and Library Department at the National Bank of Iran Museum, and *The Modernists* is her first independent work in the field of Qajar and contemporary history.

In this session, Mansoureh Ettehadieh, Ali Tatari, Mohammad Sattari, Simin Fasihi, Sima Tayefeh, and Ali Dehbashi will speak about the book and its historical context. The session will be held at 5:00 PM on Monday, August 31, 2026, at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art.
