Aliakbar Gorji Azandaryani

Ali-Akbar Gorji Azandariani, born September 23, 1973, in Azandarian, Hamadan Province, is a jurist, author, translator, and professor of public law at Shahid Beheshti University. His areas of expertise are public law and constitutional law, particularly constitutional adjudication, fundamental freedoms, citizenship rights, comparative public law, and constitutional theories. Bibliographic sources also identify him as an associate professor of public law at Shahid Beheshti University.

He began his legal studies at the University of Tehran and Shahid Beheshti University before continuing his education in France. He pursued further studies in public law at the University of Nantes, where he wrote his doctoral dissertation on constitutional adjudication. Upon returning to Iran, he taught constitutional law, comparative public law, constitutional adjudication, and citizenship rights at the Faculty of Law of Shahid Beheshti University.

Gorji is one of the prominent figures in constitutional law in Iran. The central focus of his work is the question of how political power can be constrained through the constitution, fundamental freedoms, citizenship rights, and judicial or quasi-judicial oversight. For this reason, topics such as the rule of law, review of parliamentary legislation, constitutional courts, the Guardian Council, the Administrative Justice Court, and constitutional revision feature prominently in his works.

He is also a co-founder and license holder of the specialized journal Constitutional Law, a publication launched in 2003 that has served as one of the specialized forums for constitutional law discourse in Iran.
