Houshang Ebtehaj, widely known by his pen name Sayeh, was an Iranian poet and Hafez scholar and one of the foremost contemporary writers of the Persian ghazal. By joining the language and musicality of the classical ghazal with the romantic, social, and political experiences of modern life, he created enduring works of Iranian poetry and music.
