Life and Thought
Pierre Lecoq (born 1939) is a Belgian linguist, philologist, and Iranologist, one of the most prominent living scholars of ancient Iranian studies. He served as director of studies in Iranian linguistics and philology at the École Pratique des Hautes Études (EPHE) in Paris and has produced foundational works on Old Persian, Avestan, and Iranian dialects.
