Peter Singer is one of the preeminent contemporary philosophers. His book Animal Liberation is his most famous work. In this book, he critiques factory farming and meat-eating. He is of Jewish descent. He has written articles on vegetarianism and animal advocacy.

Richard Dawkins is the Charles Simonyi Professor for the Public Understanding of Science at the University of Oxford, an ethologist, evolutionary biologist, and author of popular science books. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society and the Royal Society of Literature, and plays a prominent role in the public interpretation and teaching of science in England.
