About this video
This video is part of the "Analytic Philosophy in Everyday Life" dossier and is dedicated to the relationship between analytic philosophy of mind and psychotherapy. The guest is Mehdi Nasrin, a psychotherapist in Canada and a former member of the Iranian Institute of Philosophy, with Mohammadreza Vaez hosting the conversation.
The focus of the discussion is how the philosophy of mind can contribute to a more precise understanding of psychological experiences, consciousness, feeling, intention, the self, embodiment, and suffering. From the perspective of analytic philosophy, clarifying concepts such as mind, belief, emotion, personal identity, and lived experience can play a role in understanding psychotherapeutic issues.
The importance of this conversation lies in bridging two theoretical and practical domains: the philosophy of mind, which inquires into the nature of mind and consciousness, and psychotherapy, which deals with suffering, change, self-understanding, and human relationships. This program is suitable for those interested in analytic philosophy, philosophy of mind, psychology, and psychotherapy.
