The second volume of *A Bibliography of Western Philosophy* by Hosseinali Rahmati descriptively introduces approximately 3,470 Persian sources—including books, articles, and theses—authored or translated on the subject of Western philosophy between 2002 and 2006, to facilitate easier resource discovery.

Hosseinali Rahmati: By the grace of God, after eight years of effort, the second volume of A Sourcebook of Western Philosophy has been published. This volume introduces approximately 3,470 books, theses, and articles authored or translated into Persian on topics and discussions related to Western philosophy and philosophers during the years 1381–1385 (2002–2006). Whatever attitude the thinkers of our society may hold toward Western philosophy, they have no choice but to consult Western philosophical works and conduct research on them for a “realistic and fair” encounter with this philosophy. Therefore, this book can be useful for all professors, students, and anyone interested in the field of philosophy, facilitating their work in searching for the resources they need for research and teaching.
This book comprises approximately 1,400 pages of three hundred words each, published in a 720-page, two-column, large-format (Rahli) edition. For ease of access to the sources, detailed subject and name indexes are provided at the end of the book.
In introducing each source, in addition to bibliographic information (author, translator, publisher, etc.), a description of the source’s content is also provided so that the reader can become acquainted with the subject matter of each source. In selecting the sources, any form of judgment or value assessment has been avoided; therefore, the introduction of a source does not necessarily imply agreement with its content.
The works introduced in this sourcebook (which is currently the most comprehensive sourcebook on Western philosophy) cover diverse areas of Western philosophy, some of which are as follows: epistemology, philosophy of religion, philosophy of art, philosophy of ethics, logic, hermeneutics, history of philosophy, biographies of Western philosophers, theology, ideology, social philosophy, philosophy of language, philosophy of mathematics, philosophy of mind, analytic philosophy, philosophy of history, comparative philosophy, philosophy of education, political philosophy, philosophy of medicine, philosophy of science.
The first volume of the sourcebook, published in 1385 (2006) and reprinted in 1388 (2009), introduced works authored or translated into Persian up to the year 1380 (2001), and the present book continues that timeline (up to the year 1385/2006). It is hoped that in the future it will be possible to introduce resources from subsequent years.
Various individuals collaborated in the preparation of this book (in note-taking, typing, extracting indexes, and publishing the book), and I consider it my duty to thank and appreciate each and every one of them. We must also appreciate the efforts of all the authors whose works are introduced in this sourcebook.
