Lecture Series on the Definition of Phenomenological Sociology in Weber and Schutz by Dr. Ali Nejat Gholami

The above five audio files and two PDF texts pertain to sessions on the definition of sociology in Weber and Schutz; the two texts below are the opening sections of Weber's "Economy and Society" and Schutz's "The Phenomenology of the Social World," translated by Ali Nejat Gholami and serving as the focus of those sessions, the audio files of which are presented here. The aim of these sessions was to examine Schutz's phenomenological and Weberian definition of sociology based on his text.

The following five files are from the workshop "An Introduction to Phenomenology" held by the Cultural Studies Student Association of the University of Science and Culture in Esfand 1394 [February/March 2016].

Two points of clarification:

First, it is obvious that these sessions require certain prerequisites.

Second, in the first session, a few minutes are spent in dialogue with the students; since some of the material is relevant to the lecture series and may be of value to others, the relevant portion has not been removed, and the files for all sessions have been uploaded in full.
