Dr. Siroos Bina's lecture series on the critique of political economy examines methodology, capital, and the theory of value through the lens of Karl Marx. The course analyzes globalization, accumulation, and the rate of profit within the framework of historical materialism.

A series of lectures on the Critique of Political Economy by Dr. Siroos Bina (Distinguished Professor of Political Economy at the University of Minnesota, USA) This series comprises a methodical examination of political economy and its fundamental critique from the perspective of Karl Marx (1818–1883). Initially, a discussion (over three sessions) will be presented on the subject of cognition and the manner of organic inquiry into the specificity of the capitalist economy. Thereafter, in the subsequent parts, by employing the dialectical method and also by relying on the concept of “capital” as a pervasive and social relation—within the tortuous process of historical materialism—the “theory of value” and the necessity of attending to it in all discussions concerning the contemporary world, especially the issue of the globalization of capital, will be elaborated.
