Lectures on Sociological Theory by Hossein Kachouian
Dr. Hossein Kachouian's lectures on sociological theories, after outlining key concepts, trace the discipline's emergence from the Renaissance to the break with traditional thought in the modern world, and survey its subsequent developments in the new era.
Sociological theories are the theoretical frameworks proposed by sociologists to explain and analyze social activities, processes, and structures. In the upcoming course, a general discussion on the subject will first be presented: what is theory; what is sociological theory; and finally, what is sociology? Another discussion concerns the historical and scholarly approach adopted with regard to sociological theories. Subsequently, a discussion is opened on the historical period or the type of outlook of tradition, and thereafter the type of outlook of modernity on these categories. Following these introductory discussions, the main discussion narrates the historical trajectory of the emergence of sociology from its point of formation in the Renaissance to the break from traditional thought into the modern world, and its causes and factors. Finally, its subsequent developments up to the new world, and the other forms sociological thought has taken, are reviewed. Dr. Hossein Kachouian (born 1959 in Tehran) is a sociologist, a member of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, and active in the fields of macro-sociological theories and the sociology of knowledge. He is currently a faculty member of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Tehran. He is a graduate of the University of Manchester and has seminary education.

باسلام و احترام تشکر بابت تکمیل و اصلاح تعداد جلسات این درس گفتار. متاسفانه هنوز صوت جلسه هجدهم دچار مشکل است و امکان دانلود آن وجود ندارد و خطا می دهد باتشکر
