A Brief Explanation Regarding the Book Truth and Beauty:

The book "Truth and Beauty: Lessons in the Philosophy of Art," in 13 chapters and 26 lessons, teaches the most important issues of aesthetics and the philosophy of art to its audience using a new method.

The first chapter is dedicated to explaining the working method and describing the categories and concepts discussed in this book. In the second chapter, titled "The Difficulties of Defining Beauty," beauty and its related concepts are explained and described in the treatises of Plato, Aristotle, and subsequently Plotinus, Edmund Burke, and Kant.

In the third chapter, titled "Art and the Spirit of the Age," Ahmadi addresses the philosophy of art and the philosophy of art history from Hegel's perspective. The fourth chapter is called "From the Artist's Viewpoint," and in it, the position of the artist is examined from the perspective of the German Romantics, Schelling, Schopenhauer, and Nietzsche.

In the fifth chapter, titled "The Social Context of the Artwork," the author presents the views of Marx, Engels, Georg Lukács, and Antonio Gramsci on the social contexts of art.

"Art and Modernity" is the title of the sixth chapter of the book, in which modernism is examined and analyzed from the perspective of Theodor Adorno, his critique of aesthetics, and the aesthetic views of Walter Benjamin and Bertolt Brecht.

In the seventh chapter of the book, titled "From Expressiveness to Form," Ahmadi, by explaining the concept of "expressiveness in art," presents the theories of "Benedetto Croce" and "Robin George Collingwood" on this matter, and then goes on to discuss "Symbol and Expressiveness" from the perspective of Ernst Cassirer, as well as the aesthetic views of Wittgenstein.

In the eighth chapter of the book, titled "The Structure of the Artwork," the views of the Russian Formalists and Structuralists on art and artistic and literary criticism are examined, and in the ninth chapter, named "The Unconscious and Art," the views of Freud and Jung, as well as aesthetics from the perspective of the Surrealists, are described.

"Interpretation and Audience Reception" is the title of the tenth chapter of the book, in which, along with discussions about the extent of the audience's susceptibility, the roots of "reception aesthetics" and the views of Jauss and Iser, as well as interpretation from the perspective of Gadamer and Paul Ricoeur, are opened up for the audience.

The eleventh chapter of the book is dedicated to discussing and examining the methods of approaching the artwork and the views of Marshall McLuhan and Jean Baudrillard in this field. "The Enigma of Meaning" is also the title of the twelfth chapter of the book, in which the relationship between truth and art is analyzed from the perspective of Jacques Derrida and his concept of the "metaphysics of presence."

And finally, the last chapter of the book, titled "The Mystery of the Artwork," analyzes and describes the views of the renowned German philosopher Martin Heidegger. Heidegger's discussion of the essence of poetry and his view on the poetry of the German poet Hölderlin is another topic of this chapter.

It should be mentioned that the twenty-fifth printing of "Truth and Beauty: Lessons in the Philosophy of Art," authored by Babak Ahmadi, was released to bookstores by Nashr-e Markaz Publishing in a run of one thousand copies, 608 pages, and priced at 29,500 Tomans.
