Ali Nayeri is an Iranian theoretical physicist and one of the active figures in science communication, critical thinking, and the critique of pseudoscience in the Persian-speaking world. In his public lectures and conversations, he has endeavored to explain concepts of modern physics, cosmology, the scientific method, and the boundary between science and superstition in clear language for general audiences.
Ali Nayeri was born in 1970 in Shiraz. He completed his undergraduate studies at Sharif University of Technology and then continued his education at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences in Zanjan. Nayeri subsequently went to India for physics research and worked for a time at scientific centers in that country, including the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research and the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics in Pune, before emigrating to the United States to continue his academic career.
His area of expertise is theoretical physics, cosmology, and topics related to fundamental physics. Alongside his academic and research activities, Nayeri has become known in recent years especially through programs, conversations, and public lectures on science, the philosophy of science, scientific skepticism, and the critique of pseudoscience.
