Richard Bartlett Gregg was an American social philosopher, writer, pacifist, and activist, considered one of the first serious interpreters of Gandhi's philosophy of nonviolence in the English-speaking world. His important book, *The Power of Nonviolence*, was influential in the theoretical and strategic introduction of nonviolent resistance and impacted figures such as Martin Luther King Jr.
