Life and Thought
Richard Shusterman (born 1949) is an American pragmatist philosopher and the founder of the field of somaesthetics. With his influential book *Pragmatist Aesthetics* (1992), translated into more than fifteen languages, he linked aesthetics to everyday life and the body. Shusterman is currently a Distinguished Professor of Humanities at Florida Atlantic University.
