About this video
This video is part of the “Analytic Philosophy in Everyday Life” series and focuses on the relation between analytic moral philosophy and psychotherapy. The guest is Mahmoud Moghaddasi, who holds a PhD in philosophy and an MA in clinical psychology, and the conversation is hosted by Mohammadreza Vaezi.
The discussion centers on how moral concepts such as responsibility, suffering, choice, virtue, harm, self-deception, and the meaning of life can contribute to understanding psychological experience and the therapeutic process. From the standpoint of analytic philosophy, conceptual clarification and careful reasoning can help make human problems in psychotherapy more intelligible.
The importance of this conversation lies in connecting two fields that both deal directly with practical human life: moral philosophy, which asks about good and bad and the right way to live, and psychotherapy, which engages with suffering, conflict, self-knowledge, and personal change. The program is suitable for those interested in moral philosophy, psychology, psychotherapy, and the application of philosophy to everyday life.
