Massimo Pigliucci is an Italian-American philosopher and biologist who has become one of the leading figures in the contemporary revival of Stoicism, known as "modern" or "new" Stoicism, as well as a prominent critic of pseudoscience within the philosophy of science. Before turning to philosophy, he worked as an evolutionary biologist, and he now teaches philosophy at the City College of New York (CUNY). His widely read book "How to Be a Stoic" is among his best-known works.
