Seyyed Mohammad-Ali Jamalzadeh was a writer, translator, and one of the pioneers of modern fiction writing in Iran. He is considered the father of the short story in Iran for writing the collection 'Once Upon a Time' (Yeki Bud Yeki Nabud) and for introducing colloquial language and realism into Persian prose.
