Shahrokh Meskoob was an Iranian writer, translator, literary researcher, and one of the most prominent figures in twentieth-century studies of the Shahnameh and Iranian culture. Through a historical, mythological, and philosophical approach to classical Persian texts, especially Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh, he gained an important position in modern Iranian literary criticism.
