About this video
In this 29-session series, held as Instagram Lives, Hesam Salāmat reads and provides a step-by-step commentary on the book Phenomenology of Spirit by Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, using the translation by Seyed Masoud Hosseini and Mohammad-Mehdi Ardebili (Ney Publishing).
Phenomenology of Spirit is one of the most complex and, at the same time, foundational works in the history of philosophy, tracing the path of consciousness from its most sensory stages to absolute knowledge. In these sessions, Salāmat strives to unpack difficult Hegelian concepts such as dialectic, self-consciousness, spirit, reason, and history in a clearer and more accessible language for a Persian-speaking audience.
The significance of this reading lies in its focus on the original text, rather than summaries or second-hand interpretations, familiarizing the listener with the internal logic of Hegel's work. This series is a valuable resource for philosophy students, enthusiasts of German thought, and anyone wishing to confront one of the pillars of philosophical modernity.
