Theories of Perception | A Conversation with Kaveh Behbahani
How do we perceive the world, and what is the relationship between our sensory experience and external reality? In this conversation, Kaveh Behbahani examines the most important theories of perception and the philosophical issues associated with them.
About this video
Perception is one of the fundamental problems in the philosophy of mind and epistemology. When we see, hear, or touch something, are we directly encountering the world itself, or does our mind interpret and represent sensory data in a particular way?
In this live conversation, Alireza Emtiaz talks with Kaveh Behbahani about "Theories of Perception." The discussion addresses various views on the nature of perception, the relationship between sensory experience and the external world, and the role of the mind in shaping our experience of reality.
This issue is important because the theory of perception influences broader questions about knowledge, reality, and the possibility of human access to the world. Examining these theories can help provide a clearer understanding of the relationship between mind, experience, and reality, as well as the fundamental problems of epistemology.
