Despite its successes, economics has grown increasingly distant from the general public, saturated with impenetrable formulas. Yet a number of books have been written that present the discipline's most important findings in plain language, requiring no academic background.

Economics, while perhaps the most successful scientific discipline within the social sciences, faces the problem of becoming increasingly distant from the power of mutual understanding and common language with the general public. Economic papers are now no different from writings in electrical engineering, filled from beginning to end with difficult and arcane formulas. Most economists have become so entangled in specialized jargon that, like some physicians or lawyers, they cannot express their purpose simply. For over a decade, economists have recognized this problem and understood its detriments. For this reason, books have gradually been written to present the most important findings of economics in a language comprehensible to all, so that the general public can benefit from the astonishing advances of this important branch of human knowledge. The list that follows consists of books whose reading requires no specific academic background, and all people can learn valuable and worthwhile points from reading them. Most of the books on this list have been translated worldwide into various languages, including Persian, and are usually bestsellers. It is hoped that readers will both enjoy reading them and learn interesting points.
