A Reflection on 'Philosophizing' and Its Relation to Human Errors and Passions
Truth and virtue are the names of our final errors and yearnings; philosophising is a detour for sharing in new mistakes without ever reaching these ends. Along this path, rationality and spirituality are redefined as well.
A Reflection on 'Philosophizing' and Its Relation to Human Errors and Passions
1 - Truth: the name we give to our latest errors.
2 - Virtue: the name we give to our latest passions.
3 - Folly: insisting on an error or a passion and making it one's first and last error and passion.
4 - Evil: preferring and imposing one's own error and passion upon the error and passion of another.
5 - Spirituality: recognizing the errors and passions in another and being open to them.
6 - Rationality: the capacity to have other and better errors and passions, and not to repeat old and futile errors and passions.
7 - Creativity: devising beautiful and new errors and passions.
8 - Education: seducing and persuading others toward errors and passions that are necessary and useful for themselves.
9 - Companionship: gifting and sharing one's errors and passions with one another, and deriving mutual benefit from them.
10 - Happiness: spending a lifetime, with a few friends, on the path of new and pure errors and passions, yet never reaching "Truth" and "Virtue"; that is, the very byway they call: "Philosophizing"!
