About this video
This video is part of the dossier "Analytic Philosophy in Everyday Life" and is dedicated to the fundamental question of living well. In this conversation, Babak Abbasi and Masoud Zanjani, hosted by Mohammadreza Vaez, explore how philosophy can help in understanding the good life from the perspectives of the analytic and continental traditions.
The focus of the discussion is a comparison of how analytic and continental philosophy approach questions about meaning, ethics, suffering, choice, self-knowledge, and everyday life. Analytic philosophy typically approaches these issues with conceptual precision and the clarification of arguments, while continental philosophy places greater emphasis on lived experience, historicity, existence, and the human relationship with the world.
The importance of this conversation lies in showing that the issue of living well is not merely an abstract question, but is directly linked to individual decisions, human relationships, ethics, the meaning of life, and our way of engaging with the world. This program is suitable for those interested in philosophy, moral philosophy, the meaning of life, and the relationship between thought and everyday life.
