Schopenhauer's Philosophy; A Conversation with Masoud Zanjani
This video is a conversation about Schopenhauer's philosophy with Masoud Zanjani. The discussion addresses Schopenhauer's main ideas about the will, suffering, life, art, and the possibility of liberation.
About this video
Arthur Schopenhauer is among the philosophers who, with a pessimistic yet profound view of life, suffering, and human desire, holds a special place in the history of modern philosophy. In this conversation with Masoud Zanjani, Schopenhauer's philosophy and the central concepts of his thought are examined.
The focus of the discussion is the relationship between the world and the will, the problem of suffering, the place of desire and craving in human life, and the ways Schopenhauer proposes for reducing suffering or temporarily escaping it; from philosophical contemplation to art and a kind of detachment from desire.
The importance of this conversation lies in the fact that it introduces Schopenhauer not merely as a philosopher of pessimism, but as a thinker about human nature, the meaning of life, ethics, and the possibility of tranquility in a world filled with wanting and frustration.
