This series on political ethics, with a sidelong glance at the country's disordered politics, explores the relationships between politics and morality. The first two sessions were held under the titles 'The Politics of Apology and the Political Apology' and 'Is the Agent Excused?'.

A series of sessions on political ethics, under various titles and with a sidelong glance at the state of real politics in the country, is underway in a disorderly and unplanned fashion. The first session, titled “The Politics of Apology and Political Apology,” was held on the symbolic date of 2 Khordad 1398, and the second, titled “Is the Agent Excused?,” on 15 Mordad 1398. The purpose of these sessions is to inquire into the relations between politics and ethics. The speaker at each session makes an effort to show that we have not yet become entirely numb and dull in moral terms, and that a modicum of intelligence for ethical conduct remains to us, with which we gaze, bewildered, at the politics of the day. It is hoped that in these occasional gatherings, in an era dominated by instruments and tools, we might inquire, with a frail and lifeless voice, about ends and purposes. Though we resemble a frail fish in the crystal bowl of our era’s “market and torment,” not relentlessly but occasionally we move our lips, with the vain hope that someone might ask about the interpretation of our words from the fish and the pen.
