Capitalism: A Sedanet Conversation with Mohammad Mashinchian

Following the series of sessions we held on political philosophy and political economy, this time we hosted Mr. Mohammad Mashinchian on the subject of capitalism. Mohammad Mashinchian, who has been a serious advocate of the market economy and capitalism in recent years, is an economic researcher, editor-in-chief of the Bourgeois website, head of the political economy section at Siasatnameh magazine, and also the translator of the books “The Reason of Livelihood,” “Free Trade,” and “Socialism: The Failed Idea That Never Dies,” and has a book in translation titled “Toleration: The Liberal Virtue.”

In the first session, he attempts to take a historical look at capitalism and then provides an explanation of bourgeois morality, which he considers the central axis of capitalism. He then addresses some misunderstandings that exist about capitalism.

The second session, however, was a Q&A about capitalism. In this session, as far as possible, questions were raised about the price system, the welfare state, inequality, Iran's economy, social ownership, and other issues.
