Christian Meier

Christian Meier (born 1929) is a German historian and professor emeritus of ancient history at the University of Munich. He is known for his works on the late Roman Republic, especially his biography of Caesar, and his research on the emergence of politics and the culture of freedom in ancient Greece. Meier is considered one of Europe's most prominent historians in the field of Greek and Roman political history.
