Ezzatollah Fooladvand

Life and Thought

Ezzatollah Fooladvand (born 1935 in Isfahan) is an Iranian writer and translator with a PhD in philosophy from Columbia University who, through his precise and substantive translations of thinkers such as Kant, Popper, Arendt, and Fromm, has become one of the most influential conduits for transmitting liberal political philosophy into Persian. He is also known as the principal figure who introduced Karl Popper's thought to Iran's intellectual community.
