James Alan Robinson is a British economist and political scientist, best known for his research on institutions, political power, and economic development. Together with Daron Acemoglu, in works such as Why Nations Fail and The Narrow Corridor, he has argued that the differing destinies of societies should be understood through the quality of their political and economic institutions.
