Mohammad Ali Amir-Moezzi is an Iranian scholar of Islam, Shi'ism, and the Qur’an based in France, and a Director of Studies at the École Pratique des Hautes Études in Paris. His research focuses on early Shi'ism, the place of the Imam in Shi'a theology, Islamic esotericism, and the history of the formation and interpretation of the Qur’an.
