About this video
Morality is one of the most fundamental features of human life, but what is its origin and how has it taken shape throughout history? Evolutionary perspectives seek to explain the emergence and transformation of moral behaviors in humans by considering biological, social, and historical processes.
In this conversation, Alireza Emtiaz talks with Hossein Mahmoudi about "Evolutionary Ethics and Its Historical Trajectory in Human Societies." The discussion examines the path of morality's formation and its transformation in human societies, as well as the factors that have played a role in the evolution of moral norms and behaviors.
The importance of evolutionary ethics lies in its ability to forge a link between philosophical questions about morality and the findings and theories related to human evolution. A historical and evolutionary examination of morality can also contribute to a better understanding of the origins of cooperation, empathy, social norms, and moral differences in human societies.
