In a series of articles titled “On the Method and Ethos of Neo-Thinking and Religious Intellectuals,” Dr. Mehdi Iranmanesh explores the commonalities in their perspectives. Understanding religion is a dynamic endeavor, and engaging with the views of neo-thinkers is necessary to shift one’s outlook and achieve a better comprehension of it.
God willing, from now on a series of articles entitled “On the Method and Ethos of Neo‑Thinkers and Religious Intellectuals” will be presented to friends. Articles that are intended, as much as possible, to address the commonalities in the views of neo‑thinkers and religious intellectuals on various subjects. Understanding is not a static matter that ends at a certain stage; it is a dynamic matter; and dynamism is when you can see a structure from within and without, and this requires a shift in perspective. Understanding religion, or religious studies, is no exception to this rule. Religion should be known in the light, not in darkness, and the property of light is the opening of new perspectives for seeing. These new perspectives give birth to new thoughts, and new thoughts lead to greater and more precise understanding. Stagnation and rigidity are signs of stopping at one viewpoint and the illusion of seeing in darkness or seeing from a limited angle. Accordingly, paying attention to the views of neo‑thinkers and religious intellectuals is a requisite for a better understanding of religion, because it helps our ability to change our perspective.
Therefore, for those concerned with humanity, ethics, spirituality, and religion, studying at the feet of neo‑thinkers and religious intellectuals will be a great boon. In this series of articles, the author will also try to address some of the important and shared views of contemporary neo‑thinkers and religious intellectuals. The views of those whose difference in perspective and ethos from other religious scholars has led them to choose different methods and obtain different results.
It must be emphasized that although the author of these articles has been studying the works of contemporary neo‑thinkers and religious intellectuals for more than 30 years, he considers himself neither a neo‑thinker nor a religious intellectual. It would be a great felicity if these articles could reveal the tale of their suffering and their human, ethical, and religious concerns from amidst the days when I had a lament in the rose garden and had nested among the tulips and roses.

انقلاب فرانسه/انقلاب اکتبر/انقلاب جمهوری اسلامی/داعش: اگر ما این چهار رخداد عصر معاصر را با هم مقایسه کنیم، متوجه می شویم هر چه از اولی به آخری نزدیک می شویم سرمایه های فکری و نظری، به ترتیب، پایین تر می آید و دقیقا به همین خاطر است که موفقیت و ماندگاری آنها هم، به تدریج کاهش می یابد. پشت انقلاب فرانسه، نظام های فلسفی عصر روشنگری و پشت انقلاب اکتبر، تفکر های سیاسی ایدئولوژیک بود. اما پشت انقلاب ایران هیچ چیز، تقریبا، نبود. ما اول انقلاب کردیم بعد به دنبال نظریه سازی و توجیه آن برآمدیم. و در آخر جریانات داعش و القاعده و امثالهم تنها و تنها شورش های چریکی و عملیات های کوری هستند که هیچ آینده برای آنها متصور نیست. نکته مهم دیگر این است که میزان موفقیت انقلاب ها، با مقدار به رسمیت شناختن تقدیرِ تاریخی و شرایط و امکانات تاریخی رابطه مستقیم دارد. انقلاب اکتبر رشد می کند چون نظام طبقانی و روابط سرمایه دار و کارگر را کشف می کند و به رسمیت می شناسد؛ و شکست می خورد چون دن کیشوت وار می خواهد به طور کلی هرگونه فاصله طبقاتی را نابود کند و ارزش افزوده کالا را از میان بردارد، اموری که در واقعیت امکان پذیر نیستند. بنابراین، باید این عبرت را از تاریخ یاد بگیریم که بدون پشتوانه های فکری و نظری کافی، و شناخت تقدیرِ تاریخی و امکانات و محدودیت های آن، همه انقلاب ها و اصلاحات به شکست خواهد انجامید. روشنگری با زبان شیرین و وعده های زیبا ملت ها را فریب داد و بر گردهاذهان سوار شد سپس تمامی رقبای فکری خود را با بیرحمی و قساوت سر به نیست کرد! The Dialectic of Enlightenment Frankfurt School Horkheimer, Marcuse انکار و تحقیر تمسخر سرکوب تنها رفتار تجدد مدرنیته به نهضت اسلامی ایران سئوال این است که چطور کسی که هیچ ندارد سی میلیون مردم، روستایی، شهری، تاجر، دانشگاهی، پیر جوان متخصص ، روشنفکر متبختر، هنرمند را mobilizeکرد و به حرکت درآورد؟ بله یک جواب ممکن انکار است! چیزی را که نمی پسندیم چیزی که professionalism ناتوان که مردم هیچوقت گوش بهش نمی دن را رسوا کرد.
