Mostafa Malekian on Methodology and Research Methods: A Collection

One of the issues to which Mostafa Malekian has devoted attention is research method and methodology in the humanities and the status and standing of these sciences. Here we have tried to collect and publish a selection of his articles, lectures, and course talks on this subject.

"The Causes of Weakness in Humanities Research"; which is the text of a lecture by the professor.

"Are the Social Sciences Really Inferior?"; is an article by Fritz Machlup translated by the professor.

"Research Method in Philosophy"; is a pamphlet resulting from one lecture session by the professor, presented in 1999 at Tarbiat Modares University of Qom.

"Research Method in Political Science" ; consists of two interviews of the professor with Dr. Seyyed Sadegh Haghighat.

"Research Methodology in the Humanities"; was the title of a course talk by Professor Mostafa Malekian that was scheduled to be held over ten semesters (four sessions per semester) at the Panjareh Hekmat Institute. The titles of these semesters were: First semester: Geography of the Humanities, Second semester: The Traditional Method, Third semester: The Framework Method, Fourth semester: The Worldview-Observation Method, Fifth semester: The Historical Method, Sixth semester: The Systematic and Structuralist Method, Seventh semester: The Explanatory Method, Eighth semester: The Existential-Phenomenological Method, Ninth semester: The Interpretive Method, Tenth semester: The Synthetic Method. Unfortunately, it was halted in the third semester due to the professor's illness. The pamphlets for these course talks were prepared through the efforts of Messrs. Mohammad Amin Moheb Ali and Meysam Mokhtari, and comprise ten sessions.
