Arash Naraghi compares the responses of Khayyam and Rumi to the experience of nothingness and the tragic nature of existence. Khayyam sees nothingness as pure non-being and recommends carpe diem, but Rumi deems this path incomplete and considers the search for a cure to lie in dispelling heedlessness.
