Alfred Schutz was an Austrian-American philosopher and sociologist and one of the founders of social phenomenology. By connecting Edmund Husserl’s phenomenology with Max Weber’s interpretive sociology, he analyzed meaning, social action, and the structures of the everyday lifeworld.
