Anthony Giddens (born 1938) is a leading British sociologist and former director of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). As one of the most prominent and most-cited contemporary sociologists, he is known for formulating “structuration theory” and for reinterpreting concepts such as late modernity, reflexivity and “Third Way” politics.
