Bryan Turner is a British sociologist and a leading figure in the sociology of religion, social theory, the sociology of the body, citizenship and human rights. He is known for his works on Max Weber, Islam, modernity, the body and the relationship between religion and politics. Turner has also been a founding editor of journals such as Body & Society, Citizenship Studies and Journal of Classical Sociology.
