Life and Thought
Ehsan Shariati, born 1959, is a philosophy researcher, lecturer, and one of the figures of religious intellectualism in Iran. He is the son of Ali Shariati, and a significant part of his intellectual work is dedicated to re-reading Shariati's legacy, contemporary philosophy, critical theology, and the relationship between religion, freedom, and modernity. His writings and lectures are mostly situated at the intersection of philosophy, religious studies, intellectualism, and the history of contemporary Iranian thought.
