Sara Shariati

Sara Shariati is an Iranian sociologist and a well-known researcher in the fields of sociology of religion, religious intellectualism, and contemporary Iranian culture. She is a faculty member at the University of Tehran and, in her writings and conversations, has addressed the relationship between religion, society, collective memory, intellectualism, and cultural transformations in contemporary Iran. She is also from the family of Ali Shariati, and part of her work concerns the social and cultural re-reading of Shariati's legacy.
