Reza Ahmadi

Reza Ahmadi holds a PhD in Philosophy and is a translator and researcher of philosophy, psychoanalysis, and theology. His doctoral dissertation is dedicated to a comparative study of the semiotics of the Lacanian subject and its critical evaluation from the perspective of Sadrian wisdom. He also conducts research in the field of cognitive science.

In the Persian-speaking world, Ahmadi is best known for his lecture series 'The Relation Between Lacanian Psychoanalysis and Philosophy.' In these lectures, Jacques Lacan's position in the lineage of Freud, Hegel, Saussurean linguistics, and contemporary philosophy is examined, and concepts such as the subject, desire, jouissance, the Imaginary, the Symbolic, and the unconscious are explained.

Ahmadi's approach to Lacanian psychoanalysis is not merely clinical; rather, he views it as a theoretical framework for understanding language, the subject, ideology, love, the body, religion, and contemporary culture. In this respect, his work lies at the intersection of continental philosophy, psychoanalysis, theology, Islamic philosophy, and the contemporary humanities.

In his lectures and writings, he has endeavored to clarify the relationship between Lacanian psychoanalysis and philosophical questions for Persian-speaking audiences; a relationship that begins with the problem of the subject and language and extends to discussions on politics, science, ethics, theology, and human experience.
