Sajjad Behroozi holds a master’s degree in philosophy from Mofid University in Qom and has conducted research in environmental ethics. His work addresses the ethical foundations of nature conservation and the possibility of formulating norms for regulating the relationship between human beings and the environment.
In the article “An Evaluation of the Respect for Nature Theory in Environmental Ethics,” co-authored with Abolghasem Fanaei, he examines the biocentric theory of respect for nature and argues for its theoretical and practical plausibility. In “Human Duties toward the Environment from the Perspective of Ethics and Islam: Overlapping Consensus in Environmental Ethics,” he also explores the possibility of agreement on environmental-protection norms between the Islamic tradition and the theory of respect for nature.
Behroozi and Fanaei have also published the book Religion and Environmental Ethics, which examines the relationship between religious and ethical teachings, the environmental crisis, and human responsibility toward nature.
