About this video

The conversation took place on August 22, 2022, and its subject relates to one of the fundamental questions facing Iranian society today: What crises, possibilities, and choices does Iran confront?
The central focus of the discussion is the nexus between economics, society, policymaking, and governance. Mohammad Fazeli, with his research experience in public policy, water and energy resources, and social issues, looks at Iran's future from an institutional and social perspective. Ali Saadvandi, focusing on macroeconomics, banking, investment, and monetary and fiscal policies, examines the economic and financial dimensions of the path ahead.
The significance of this conversation lies in its framing of Iran's future not merely as a political or economic subject, but as a multidimensional problem. Questions of inflation, investment, social trust, governance, water and energy resources, institutional reform, and the possibility of development all play a role in understanding Iran's prospects.
