About this video
This video is a lecture by Dr. Hassan Bolkhari on the subject of "Philosophy of Art," held on December 21, 2011, organized by the Cultural and Social Affairs Department of the University of Tehran. Bolkhari, who is recognized in the fields of philosophy of art, theosophy of art, and Islamic art studies, addresses questions in this discussion that lie at the foundation of our understanding of art.
The central focus of the lecture is a reflection on the nature of art, the relationship of art with beauty, meaning, truth, and human experience. The philosophy of art asks how an artwork comes into being, what relationship it has with perception and imagination, how beauty is understood, and whether art is merely an aesthetic matter or is also linked to truth, ethics, religion, and culture.
The significance of this lecture lies in its introduction of the philosophy of art not merely as a theoretical branch, but as a way to understand the place of art in human life and culture. This discussion can open a clear window onto the theoretical issues of art for audiences interested in art, aesthetics, Islamic theosophy, philosophy, religion, and the relationship between form and meaning.
