Mostafa Malekian's Lecture at the Congress of the Sublime Prophet of Mercy in Khomeyni Shahr

In his lecture at the Congress of the Sublime Prophet of Mercy, Mostafa Malekian enumerates eight characteristics that it is in the interest of every Muslim, indeed every religious person, to possess in the modern world so as not to harm others in this global village that is so fragile and brittle:

1_ We should not suffer from individual or group narcissism. 2_ Being a Muslim and being religious is about being a seeker of truth, not an owner of truth. 3_ Acknowledging the non-obviousness of truth. 4_ We should know that religion demands a specific process from us, not a specific product. 5_ The reform of society depends on the reform of the individual. 6_ First, let us prove our own Muslimness, then claim that Islam is the best religion. 7_ We should consider individuals with vices as sick, not evil. 8_ Islam must be accompanied by rationalism.

If we have a theoretical and practical commitment to these eight points, the world of Islam can both have a better world itself and contribute to building a better world. And of course, these eight characteristics exist more than anyone else among Muslim mystics, not among theologians and jurists.
