Ahmad Zeidabadi is an Iranian journalist, author, and political analyst who has written on Iranian politics, the Middle East, the Arab-Israeli conflict, and freedom of expression. He holds a degree in political science and has been arrested several times for his press and political activities. In 2011, he was awarded the UNESCO/Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize.
Ahmad Zeidabadi was born in 1965 in Zeidabad, Sirjan. He studied political science and pursued a professional career in journalism and political analysis. Zeidabadi is a well-known figure in reformist journalism and is considered an intellectual affiliate of the national-religious current.
Over the past decades, Zeidabadi has written in various newspapers and media outlets on Iran's domestic politics, Middle Eastern developments, Iran's relations with the world, the Palestine-Israel issue, democracy, and civil rights. Zeidabadi's significance in Iran's contemporary intellectual sphere lies in his combination of analytical journalism, lived political experience, and an effort to rationally understand political conflicts.
